OOTD: Naples Getaway

Back in January, I had the most amazing girls getaway weekend with my sister and our two gal pals. My sister had surprised me with the trip for my birthday (yeah, she's awesome) and so we jetted off for a very much needed relaxing weekend of spa, sun, sand and fun at the Ritz Carlton in Naples, Florida! Keep reading to find out what I did and what I wore!

We left Saturday morning at the crack of dawn, and while I always complain about leaving so early, it is nice once you arrive to have a full day ahead of you. It has become my preferred way of travel, my last two trips were based on the get up, get out and get relaxing theory and I am diggin' it. The sunrise photo on the left was taken form the plane- we had quite the view (another perk of sucking it up and taking that early flight).

Flying Jet Blue (of course) was effortless, as always. We flew into Fort Myers, and took a taxi to the Ritz Carlton, Naples (Fort Myers was the easier and more affordable airport to fly into, should you be planning a trip in the future).

While we were too early even for early check-in, we had planned ahead and booked our spa appointments for the morning. The staff at the Ritz Carlton (any Ritz, really, but this one in particular) are masters of accommodation. They were waiting for us, knew about our spa appointments, ushered us off to the relaxation cove (aka the spa), and had everything taken care of. I know, its something you expect from any hotel, but truth be told it doesn't always happen and I would be foolish not to acknowledge the exception customer service you receive at this hotel. (And NO- this is not a sponsored post, just sharing my experience).

I am a spa junkie. Thanks to early mani/pedi trips w/ our mom, my sister & I know and appreciate the importance of some pampering and R&R, so we are known to frequent the spa. I say this because I want you to have a better understanding of my obsession w/ the Ritz Spa;  I have never seen a spa this beautiful! Sure, I have a few places on my list that I have yet to experience, but so far this is the best. The waiting area, the outside deck and mineral pool, the whirlpool with rock waterfall, the hot & cold plunge pools, the spa & sauna.. the amenities are endless. That combined with the amazing services made for a perfect start to the weekend! After our spa time, the fun began. Happy hour for the sunset, dinner at The Grill, cabana's poolside ... we lived it up and enjoyed every minute of it. Should you be looking for a spot for a fun, relaxing, girls weekend without the clubs and poppin' bottles and all that stuff- this is it.

Here are some pics and all the info on my OOTD's..

This crochet trim white 'Sanctuary' poncho c/o Becca Etc Swimwear is a great beach cover up! Super soft cotton and the ladylike crochet trim detailing make this a stylish & comfortable choice. This was a no-brainer when I was packing!

Forgot to take a good shot of my swimsuit for you guys, so I of course had to fall back on the good ol' selfie.

This two piece skirtini from Lane Bryant is one of my favorite suits. I love the ease that comes with a two piece - is there anything more annoying than having to use the ladies room and shimmying your way out of a wet suit?! This suit is comfortable, offers the coverage I need and, like a number of Lane Bryant bathing suits, this top has a built in balconette bra ensuring the girls stay put all day - no matter how much splashing around you're doing. While this black & white zebra suit is no longer available, LB has a plethora to choose from and if animal print is what you are going for, I would suggest this multicolored Zebra Print top!

Style Tip: Don't focus on size - focus on FIT. A bathing suit can be your worst nightmare if the fit is all wrong, so take the time to find what works for you and then spent the money on it. You won't be sorry!

Working on my freckle count with a raspberry/blueberry mojitos, US Weekly & the gorgeous Florida sun!

Asos head to toe, almost.

The first night we decided to go all out & do some fine dining at The Grill, which is an amazing restaurant right inside the hotel. I am obsessed with this jersey skater skirt from Asos, and have been wearing it lately with everything from tights & boots to converse sneakers so I knew I wanted to pack it for this trip. I paired it with this one shoulder green tank w/ ruffle detail from Asos (no longer available). The color of this shirt is interesting, and every time I wear it I can't decide whether or not I love it or hate it because it always looks different. In any event, it worked for this outfit, which I finished off w/ this gold plated bow belt from Asos & my cognac Target wedges.

Style Tip: To accentuate your waist, try tucking a blouse into a skirt like this! While this blouse is no longer available, here are some other tops that would work w/ a fit and flare skirt like the one above. Asos Lace & Bow cami, Asos sequin embellished cami, Lane Bryant  ruffled neck tank.

For our second night out, I went a bit more casual in this high-low black cotton tank dress (similar here), floral chiffon open front kimono cardigan, both from Forever21 +.  To add a little detail to a simple cotton dress, I put on a black skinny belt and then finished off the look with these super comfortable black wedges w/ bow detail from Payless.

Style Tip: A maxi dress & a high-low (whether it be black or a color) are two garments which you can affordably add to your wardrobe for the spring/summer months ahead. They are versatile, easy to pack, and can be styled millions of different ways. Sure- black may seem like a boring & drab color for your spring/summer wardrobe, but pairing it with a floral chiffon cardi like I did, or any brightly colored layering piece will help amp up the style factor!

My travel look: leggings, toms & an oversized t shirt for comfort and simple style! How do I amp up my travel style? A bold lip color like NARS Heat Wave, oversized sunnies, easy hair & playful earrings like these Serenity Stone drop earrings from Stella & Dot.
