Hey Limette's!
Fashion week has officially kicked off and Little Lime Dress is here to report all the happenings to our favorite fashionistas!
NYC's Fashion's Night Out proved to be a great success. With so much ground to cover, we at LLD started our night at the always impressive Bergdorf Goodman's and ended our evening downtown at the quaint and glamorous, Owl's Lab. Here is the scoop on the evening..
We saw Zac Posen painting one-of-a kind dresses on a live model in the Fifth Avenue window, Robert Danes signing FNO t-shirts (proceeds will go to the National September 11th Memorial & Museum), Phyllis Posnick upstairs signing the book she helped curate, Extreme Beauty in Fashion, and Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen were tending bar on the 7th floor! As the crowd grew larger, we decided it was time to head downtown. At Owl's Lab we enjoyed an upbeat, less hectic shopping environment, gushed about everything in the store from the Free People dresses to LNA tess and sipped on mojitos that Owl's Lab owner (and Limette) Ashley had for her customers. At the end of the night, we were left impressed, exhausted and proud to be part of such a wonderful event!
With Fashion's Night Out behind us, we can move on to the big event that had everyone tweeting fashion; the tents of Bryant Park!

Collections are seen by people throughout the fashion and entertainment industries; stylists, buyers, journalists and, of course, the hottest A-list celebrities. The tents are buzzing with the excitement and commotion; that which only fashion week can create. And why wouldn't they be? As the looks for Spring came strutting down the runway, everyone was all smiles for the fabulous pieces that are to come.
Spring is inevitably about color and 2010 is no different. This seasons colors are centered around various shades of pink and green with neutral undertones. To contrast the feminine shades, designers sent down an abundance of vibrant colors; fuchsias, yellows and violets complimented the neutral pieces within each collection. Mixing and matching these tones while maintaining an airy and somewhat tropical feel is what Spring will be all about.
The sophistication of fall, which highlighted classic silhouettes, has remained for Spring. In keeping with those trends; blazers, shirtdresses and blouses will continue to pop up everywhere in light fabrics and bold colors. As we all know, Spring brings out the femininity in all of us and designer's have incorporated that using everything from flowers & lace to nylon in their stories.
Although we would love to review every show for you, we just don't have the time. As we write this, we are prepping for tomorrow's visit to the tents! So here are a few of our favorites from day one of fashion week...
Michael Angel: Angel, an Aussie native, has been known for transforming his dynamic pieces of art into high-end fashions. His items' construction and quality says plent, and with that he meticulously blends textures and colors in a way that illuminates garments, creating an undeniable energy! This was a fantastic show. Angel is definitely someone that fashion gurus should keep on their radar!

BCBG Max Azria: Thank you BCBG for the unexpected, and very much welcomed, surprises! They put their focus back on their key demographic; young, professional, women. With that came lots of youthful pieces and modern styling. Abstract prints, color blocking and asymmetrical lines; every piece had a fun and energetic feel to it. The carefree energy definitely had everyone in the tents ready for Spring!

L.A.M.B: As if we didn't already love the always fabulous Gwen Stefani; in comes her Spring 2010 collection to help us fall deeper. Stefani sent everything hip, fun, trendy and fabulous down the runway. From a white leather biker jacket, to a sexy draped frock; her pieces had attitude in every thread. Zippers, pleats, tunics, harem pants and more; each piece stood out on its own and perfectly balanced the edgy softness Gwen, herself, always rocks.

Yigal Azrouel, Zac Posen, Donna Karen, Michael Kors; we can't get enough!
This next week is going to be filled with fierce glamour and fabulous trends, and we plan on staying in the mix of it all and keeping you updated!
Lots of Lime,
Your Stylist
