Parade Day

Posted by: Madison on 11/5/2009

Hey Limette's!

While we usually spend our days searching for our favorite fashion styles & sales, we do sometimes join the rest of the world as sports fans. And it is in those moments that we get our best ideas. As a NY native, I decided to dedicate today's blog to the 2009 World Series Champions & write a ticker-tape parade blog!

Here is how I put my parade perfect look together...

I chose these Free People Skinny Jeans ($68) as the base of my look because not only are they chic and cheap but they are also a great wardrobe staple.

Paired the jeans with these Cocounts Gunmetal Grey Riding Boots ($99). These boots look like one million but are under one hundred. Hitting any parade, whether it be the 09' Ticker Tap or the Thanksgiving day parade, you need to be comfortable so a flat riding boot is perfect for the day-long activities.

The weather is starting to change here in NY. Granted, it isn't freezing (YET), but layering is always a good choice in these blistering days of fall.

For my tops, I chose to layer this basic INC Long-Sleeve tee ($26) under this Charter Club Long-Sleeve Hooded Henley ($55)to make sure I'm nice & toasty. My inspiration for this combination was the champs! I have to wear stripes on this special occaasion, so what better way to rock them then in a warm & stylish layered look.

For outerwear, my American Rag Faux Leather Motorcycle Jacket ($89) is perfect! I can move around and enjoy the day without the bulk and perfect for layering. This jacket makes my look effortlessly chic.

Parade day means standing around in a huge crowd in unpredictable weather all day long. Which is exactly why I chose to grab some winter accessories for the day (better safe than sorry).

This Bop Basics Infinity Scarf  ($68) is the ultimate winter accessory. Warm, chic and versatile this scarf can be left loose or wrapped tightly for ultimate warmth. However you choose to wear it, you will be on trend!

I will be wearing my Yankees baseball cap today, but for those ladies who aren't the "cap wearing" kinda girls, I love this Bop Basics Knit Cuff Hat ($58). it looks great w/ the infinity scarf, matches the ensemble and keeps your head warm. Want to prevent hair static? Spray the inside of your hat w/ hairspray and you are good to go!

Just in case, I usually have a pair of gloves in my purse. These Bop Basic Fingerless Knit Gloves ($58) match my infinity scarf perfect I can use my digits to throw paper and take picture messages!

To complete my look and ensure I have everything I need for the day, I chose this Pink Studio Lupe Convertible Bag ($80). Ultra chic cross-body (convertible) bag is practical & stylish, two things I adore. The grey brings out my gunmetal riding boot & for a long day of crowd control, the cross-body style is genius! Bonus: the bag is big enough for me to stash my winter accesorries until I need them, and maybe even my #1 foam finger too!!!

That's all I have for you today Limette's!

The clock is ticking and the yanks are waiting...time to parade around town!

Lots of Lime,
